For the children who attend Seagry, Christian Malford and Walter Powell schools (the Vine Schools), growing into young people and then adults who have fruitful and successful lives, achieving the best they can is what they should be helped to do. In the story, God tends the vines. In our schools, there will be teachers doing the same thing; helping the children grow.

There is also much in terms of caring for the planet that can be drawn from caring for plants and lots of lovely images for the children to draw upon.

Our focus on Christian Values will have a powerful effect on the quality of relationships throughout our schools and also provide a wealth of naturally occurring opportunities to explore the person and the teachings of Jesus. The connectedness between the Gospel and everyday lives of children and adults in our school communities can be transformational.

Our Values – GRAPES

 G – Generosity: Deuteronomy 15:7–8

If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.

 R – Respect: Matthew 7:12

So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

 A- Acceptance: Luke 6:37–38

Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.

P – Perseverance: Romans 5:3-5:

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

E- Empathy: Colossians 2:4

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

S- Selflessness:Philippians 2:3-4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
